I’m back from my fantastic trip that past February weekend. Here are some of the highlights:
- fairly quick and efficient
- a cost effective way for solo travelers to get from the airport to your hotel
Mandalay Bay
- check-in was a breeze
- room was spacious and clean
- casino was lively
Luxor
- another easy check-in
- furnishings in the room are dated and scuffed, but the room was ok overall
- Public House is a great stop for a quick bite
- Aurora is clean and relatively quiet with great service
Is the Downtown Grand doing Chinese New Year wrong?
The bunker has been found!
Detailed room reviews to follow. Again, big thanks to Kyle and Chris for the great time! Any comments or thoughts about the show? Share them in the comments below!
When you first mentioned ‘The Bunker” at MGM Grand I assumed that the reviewer was speaking about the West Wing. I am glad you confirmed my suspicion. The hallway in the West Wing is long and dark and has a relatively low ceiling so I can see how someone would describe it as bunker like. I have actually stayed in the West Wing twice and liked it. The room is small (most appropriate for a single traveler or a couple) and dark, but when I am in Las Vegas I am really only in my room to sleep and shower. If you are modest the bathroom might not be to your liking. However when I stayed at the Cosmopolitan, my room was even less modest in terms of sight lines into the bathroom. Perhaps this is part and parcel of hip/modern/boutique room layouts.
The West Wing does have easier access to LV Blvd (through the side door, it comes out by a Grand Canyon Tours store) negating the need to traverse the enormous casino floor to arrive on the strip.
Yep. It’s a little dreary over there. Good to know the rooms are satisfactory though. I did notice the easy access to LV BLVD and the West Wing Bar, but it certainly does feel removed from the rest of MGM Grand. Thanks for commenting!
